This comes a day after her alleged killer, 24-year-old Devin Bryden, of Northampton, was arrested and charged in connection with her murder, the DA's Office said.

Abromowitz's body was found stabbed to death at the duo's apartment at 11 Hatfield Street in Northampton around 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 10, the DA's Office said. Bryden was brought in for questioning after police found him in Abromowitz's car at a Westfield parking lot.

Bryden told police that he stabbed Abromowitz so he could take her car because "he was going to become homeless soon," the DA's Office said. Tributes to Abromowitz have already began to pour in on social media.

"I will always love you Jana," one Facebook user wrote. "You were a little sister to me and one of my best friends and someone who I could truly be myself with. Rest In Peace Jana."

Meanwhile, Bryden is being held without bail after he pleaded not guilty to charges of murder and larceny of a motor vehicle in Northampton District Court on Monday, the DA's Office said. The investigation is ongoing.
